Performance Lab Mind vitamins for memory and concentration

It doesn’t take long reading through the posts and reviews here on Nootropics Expert to learn I have a favorite nootropic stack.

I’ve been using Mind Lab Pro ®  for over 5 years as the base for the supplements I use to manage Adult ADD.

The company is based in the UK and manufacturers their supplements in the USA. And I’ve come to trust to make the highest quality supplements.

But now and again I get an email from someone who would like to try an alternative to Mind Lab Pro. And do I have an alternative that is as good?

Up until very recently I could not honestly recommend an alternative to Mind Lab Pro.

Performance Lab Mind - nootropics for memory and concentrationBut now I can …

It’s called Performance Lab® Mind and is made by the sister company to Mind Lab Pro.

The company is Performance Lab® and they have designed and are now shipping an entire new line of supplements. And their Mind formula is part of this lineup.

This is a review of this new nootropic stack. What it is, who it’s for and why I recommend it.

My Nootropic Supplement Stack Criteria

I’ve taken a very deep dive into neuroscience over the last ten years. Learning everything I could on why my brain wasn’t working. And what I had to do to fix it.

This research has evolved over the years to identify specific areas of brain function. What each was responsible for. And how nootropic supplements could affect each function.

My list of cognitive improvements looks something like this:

  • Repair and increase memory and recall
  • Eliminate brain fog
  • Ramp up motivation
  • Boost my self-confidence
  • Be able to focus quickly and easily
  • Get rid of depression
  • Improve verbal fluidity
  • Reduce stress levels

Early in my research I soon came to realize that no prescription drug on earth could help achieve the results I was looking for. Not just a brain firing on all cylinders. But I wanted to feel better. More like my ‘old’ self.

So I turned to dietary supplements and started experimenting. It took years of trial and error. But eventually things started to turn around.

My memory and recall got better. Confidence levels improved, and I was in a better mood. Stress went down. And life began to take on a glow that I thought was lost forever.

If you have started down this path of brain optimization you know the expense involved. I’ve spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on supplements.

Trial and error of different compounds. Trying ready-made stacks that promised a lot. But always seemed to fall short in some way.

Eventually I started buying nootropic supplements in bulk powder form and started making my own capsules. Still a costly way to boost my brain power but entirely worth the effort and expense. Both in my career and relationships with those I love.

Discovering Performance Lab®

But I was always on the lookout for the ideal nootropic stack that could help replace some of the many supplements I was taking.

In late 2015 I finally found a company in the UK called Mind Lab Pro®.

I’ve been using Mind Lab Pro every day since then. So I couldn’t wait to try out their new product line. And their new premade nootropic stack in particular.

Mind Lab Pro is light years ahead of anyone else in the nootropic space. But can the company maintain that reputation for quality, and a product that works, with Performance Lab Mind?

Turns out the answer is “yes”.

They’ve taken a different approach to brain optimization. One that involves your whole body. And not just your brain in isolation. A smarter approach to upgrading your brain.

Who Makes Performance Lab?

Performance Lab® is a new line of supplements and sister company to Mind Lab Pro®.

I’ve been using Mind Lab Pro since 2015 and have come to trust the company. And the quality of their supplements.

Performance Lab® is based in the U.K. and manufactures all their supplements in the USA.

Performance Lab® NutriGenesis Multi is the foundation of their new supplement line.

The company’s multivitamin for men and women supplies the essential vitamins and minerals required for overall health. Nutrients that may be missing from your diet.

Performance Lab Mind extends the benefits of their NutriGenesis® Multi to enhance every area of brain function.

This nootropic stack increases brain energy and reduces mental fatigue by supporting mitochondria and boosting cerebral blood flow.

Mind helps neurogenesis by increasing the density of neurons and synapses. It supports the neuroplasticity required for learning, memory, and overall brain function.

And Performance Lab Mind enhances focus, reaction-time, brain processing speed and memory by boosting brain energy, critical neurotransmitters and hormones depleted by stress.

Performance Lab® Mind Ingredients

Citicoline 250 mg (Cognizin®)

Citicoline is also known as CDP-Choline (Cytidine Diphosphate Choline or cytidine 5 -diphosphocholine). A naturally occurring choline source in every cell in your body.

Once Citicoline is digested it separates into cytidine and choline. Choline is needed to synthesize acetylcholine (ACh). A primary neurotransmitter involved in signaling between neurons for cognition, learning, memory, and recall.

Cytidine is a component of Ribonucleic acid (RNA). This molecule is involved in coding, decoding, regulation and the expression of genes in your body.

But once Citicoline crosses the blood-brain barrier it converts to uridine. Which is used in the synthesis of Phosphatidylcholine (PC).[i] This PC can then repair and rebuild damaged neuron membranes. To maintain the signaling between neurons needed for attention, reaction time, memory, learning, cognition, and recall.[ii]

Citicoline as Cognizin® has been shown to increase adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is the fuel source produced in your mitochondria which supplies energy to your cells.[iii]

And studies show that Citicoline normalizes blood flow in areas of the brain associated with memory that have been injured.[iv]

The Cognizin® form of citicoline found in Performance Lab® Mind has been shown in research to boost brain cell membrane formation by 26% and brain energy by 13.6% in healthy adults.[v]

Cognizin® has been clinically shown to improve mental energy, focus, attention, memory, attention and more for optimal cognitive performance.

Phosphatidylserine 100 mg (Sharp-PS® Green)

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a phospholipid component of the membrane encasing nearly every one of your cells.

Phosphatidylcholine (PC), the most abundant phospholipid in your brain, makes up the outer layer of cell membranes. Phosphatidylserine (PS) is part of the inner layer.

Both are critical to maintaining optimal cognitive health. PS is synthesized from PC in the brain by exchanging the base head group with a serine.

Phosphatidylserine (PS) promotes Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) needed for neurogenesis, neuroplasticity, and neuron repair.

PS has been shown to slow, halt, and even reverse the progression of age-related cognitive decline.[vi]

Working in concert with DHA (Omega-3), PS protects brain cells from damage and boosts neuronal survival. Studies have found lower levels of DHA and PS in those with Alzheimer’s Disease.[vii]

Sufficient PS in your brain ensures fluid brain cell membranes allowing for the free flow of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, and acetylcholine.

Studies show that phospholipid content including Phosphatidylserine begins to decline as early as age 20. And this decline becomes more pronounced as you age.[viii]

Supplementing with Phosphatidylserine helps with several memory-related functions including memory consolidation, recall and learning.

Using PS assists with thinking, problem-solving and decision-making, focus, concentration, and verbal fluidity.[ix]

Many supplement manufacturers use soy lecithin to make Phosphatidylserine. Performance Lab® Mind uses Sharp PS® Green by Enzymotec® which is a premium, high-purity PS made from sunflower lecithin.

Ajipure® L-Tyrosine, 250 mg

Ajipure® L-Tyrosine, is a highly bio-available form of the amino acid L-Tyrosine. Your brain uses L-Tyrosine to produce dopamine. And the neurotransmitters norepinephrine and epinephrine (which is your “fight or flight” hormone). Collectively known as the catecholamines.

Dopamine is involved with libido, memory, focus, goal-oriented concentration, a mood elevator, and anti-depressant.

Norepinephrine helps with alertness, working memory, focus, and executive function.

Sleep deprivation and extreme stressors like heat or cold, extreme sports, car accidents, relationship problems, intense movies, business deals gone south, exams and war zones can all deplete catecholamine levels. L-Tyrosine restores catecholamines to preserve optimal cognition.[x]

L-Tyrosine enhances working memory and executive function in the prefrontal cortex. It helps with creative flow states, is fuel for inspiration, cognitive flexibility, and the kind of “convergent thinking” you do in multiple choice exams.[xi]

Ajipure® L-Tyrosine assists in the production of thyroid hormones T3 (triiodothyronine) and T4 (thyroxine) which are crucial in maintaining both overall physical and cognitive health.

L-Tyrosine helps buffer the effects of stimulants like caffeine or amphetamines. And it helps potentiate and prolong the effects of Ritalin or Adderall and reduces the crash.

Performance Lab® Mind uses a patented Ferment-A-Pure Technology version of L-Tyrosine in this Mind formula because its helps increase the bioavailability. And ensures the purity of a pharmaceutical grade of this critical amino acid.

Maritime Pine Bark Extract 75 mg

Pine Bark Extract is a standardized extract of French maritime pine bark. The proanthocyanidins in this extract provide a host of brain enhancing benefits.

Pine Bark extract is one of the most potent antioxidants discovered. Scavenging free radicals to protect neurons and other cells in your body from oxidative damage.[xii]

Pine Bark Extract helps boost cerebral circulation. Providing the blood flow needed to bring nutrients and oxygen to energy-hungry brain cells. It does it by increasing activity of nitric oxide which dilates blood vessels.

Pine Bark Extract helps prevent decreases in dopamine and norepinephrine. And the glutathione (GSH) and GSH-disulphide reductase (GSSG-R) ratio. Neurotransmitter problems which contribute to hyperactivity in ADHD.

Pine Bark extract helps reduce DNA damage caused by oxidation. It inhibits proinflammatory gene expression implicated in diseases like Alzheimer’s.

And Pine Bark extract protects cell membranes from free radical damage, chelates heavy metals, restores cell membranes, and prevents their rupture and leakage. Helping to prevent stroke.

Studies show that Pine Bark extract significantly boosts blood flow in healthy young adults. And has a remarkable effect on memory, focus, decision-making and mood.

The Pine Bark extract in Performance Lab® Mind is standardized to 95% proanthocyanidins. The most potent pine bark extract available.

NutriCaps® capsules

The capsules used in Performance Lab® Mind are so unusual I had to include them the list of ingredients. And here’s why …

The premium ingredients used in Mind will only provide the benefit promised if your body can use them. How the ingredients get into your body matters a great deal.

Every other pre-formulated nootropic stack on the market use either gelatin capsules, or vegetarian capsules.

Gelatin capsules are made by boiling down animal hoofs, bones, and connective tissue to form a gel-like substance. This material cools and dries. Then is formed into capsules.

Vegetarian capsules are Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose which is made from pine or poplar tree pulp. The end result is a type of plastic.

Performance Lab uses NutriCaps® which are made from pullulan (fermented tapioca). A much costlier way to encapsulate their supplements. But safer, vegan-friendly, and disintegrates right away once you take it.

And Performance Lab infuses each capsule with a prebiotic that helps support your digestion.

I’m not aware of any other quality supplement manufacturer who goes the extra mile by using NutriCaps.

Performance Lab® Mind Dosage

Recommended dosage of Performance Lab Mind is 1-capsule per day.

Performance Lab Mind - best nootropics for studyingYou can safely double your daily dose. One capsule in the morning, and another capsule early afternoon.

Performance Lab Mind is designed to work with a multivitamin like Performance Lab NutriGenesis Multi. Because your brain requires vitamins and minerals to make ATP, brain cell membranes, neurotransmitters like acetylcholine, dopamine, and serotonin, hormones, for brain cell signaling and more.

Phosphatidylserine (PS) works with DHA to produce brain cell membranes. So you need a good Omega-3 like the Performance Lab® Omega-3 which contains 600 mg of DHA.

And L-Tyrosine works better when you have adequate levels of the vitamins and minerals necessary to produce dopamine. And thyroid hormones T4 and T3.

How Performance Lab® Mind Works in Real Life

Neurohackers report that using Performance Lab Mind as a nootropic stack:

  • Boosts energy levels
  • Improves alertness
  • Less brain fog
  • Better memory
  • Logical thinking improves
  • Concentration is better
  • Clarity of thought
  • Weight loss
  • Easier to remember names, phone numbers, tasks, etc.
  • Mood improves
  • Anti-anxiety
  • Lowers cortisol

Citicoline, Phosphatidylserine (PS) and L-Tyrosine are a great compliment to ADHD meds. Because they help tame the symptoms of ADHD and ADD. And this stack helps support the mechanism of action for Ritalin, Adderall and other prescription stimulants used for ADHD.

There are some reports that the PS in this Mind formula may help with Tourette’s Syndrome.

And stroke survivors report that after continued usage of Citicoline, most of the noticeable effects of the stroke were significantly less. Including less muscle paralysis and weakness.

And older neurohackers report that the Pine Bark Extract in Performance Lab Mind may help reduce age spots, varicose veins and spider veins, and you don’t bruise as easily.

Blood sugar levels normalize, no more hemorrhoids, you may be able to lift more weight and not get as sore. And a host of other benefits with this potent antioxidant and blood flow booster.

Performance Lab® Mind is Good Value

You may have found like me that nootropic supplements can put a real dent in your monthly budget. Especially if you’re putting together a combination of supplements in a stack to help alertness, focus, learning, memory, recall and mood.

But using Performance Lab’s Mind nootropic stack may help reduce your monthly spend on supplements.

Most pre-formulated nootropic stacks address only one or two brain functions like memory and focus, or processing speed and productivity, or just long-term potentiation for forming long-term memory.

The unique combination of premium ingredients in Performance Lab Mind work synergistically to address all areas of brain function. Including brain cell energy, brain cell and neuron regeneration (neurogenesis), neurotransmitters and brain cell signaling, and long-term brain health.

To put together a stack or get another high-quality nootropic stack that would do all this would cost you $95 or more per month.

Performance Lab® sells the Performance Lab Mind nootropic supplement stack for a month’s supply (30 capsules) for only $69.

You get a good discount if you buy three boxes of Mind. Because you’ll get another box of Performance Lab® Mind free including free shipping.

Pros & Cons of Performance Lab® Mind

Most nootropic supplement stacks on the market promoted as brain enhancers use ingredients like caffeine to give you the boost you’re looking for.

Caffeine on its own is worthwhile nootropic supplement. But it doesn’t provide the clean energy boost you get from something like Citicoline, Phosphatidylserine (PS) and L-Tyrosine.

And I’ve found a number of other advantages to using Performance Lab Mind as a nootropic stack.

Here are what I think are the pros and cons of this premium nootropic stack.

Pros

  • Full disclosure on the amount of each ingredient
  • High quality branded ingredients (i.e. Ajipure® L-Tyrosine, Cognizin®, Sharp PS® Green)
  • No added ingredients
  • No World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) banned substances
  • Vegan-friendly NutriCaps® capsules infused with prebiotics
  • Tested prior to encapsulation for allergens, GMOs, microbes, pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and other contaminants
  • Tested again to confirm potency, purity, and activity after encapsulation
  • Ships in recyclable cardboard security boxes filled with biodegradable packing peanuts
  • Competitively priced
  • Empty bottle, money-back guarantee (less shipping)
  • 24/7 customer support

Cons

  • Only available on their website
  • No vitamins – you should use it with a multivitamin/mineral supplement
  • Citicoline dose is too low if you’re using racetams
  • L-Tyrosine dose is to low if you’re using ADHD meds

In all, I think the dosages and the way this nootropic stack was designed is good for most neurohackers.

I’m a little biased because my favorite nootropic stack continues to be Mind Lab Pro® which is a sister company to Performance Lab®. MLP has some of the B-Vitamins and other adaptogens for what I think is a more potent nootropic stack.

But when you look at the mechanism of action for each of the ingredients in Performance Lab Mind and combine it with a multivitamin – most will experience the same benefits.

And not including any vitamins in Mind will encourage most to seriously consider upgrading the multivitamin/mineral supplement they’re already using.

The other thing I love is Performance Lab® discloses exactly how much of ingredient is in each capsule. So I know how much I need to add to this stack for my unique issues.

Nootropics Expert Recommendation

Nootropics Expert Tested and ApprovedI recommend the use of Performance Lab® Mind as a nootropic supplement stack.

Pricing of Performance Lab Mind is competitive for what you get. Buying these supplements separately can cost more depending on where you get them. And in what form.

More importantly, individual supplements usually contain added ingredients. Toxic things like magnesium dioxide and stearate.

Not in Performance Lab Mind. Nothing but pure, tested, high-potency ingredients disclosed on the label. Nothing else.

The biggest advantage with Performance Lab Mind is better memory, faster recall, improved mood, and more energy.

Performance Lab Mind should be used with a quality, nature-identical multivitamin/mineral supplement. Because the ingredients in this stack, and your brain, need the support of vitamins and minerals to work properly.

The Performance Lab NutriGenesis Multi for men or women is a great option if you’re looking for a multivitamin. It’s works perfectly with the Mind nootropic stack.

Performance Lab® products including their Mind formula is only available on their website. You will not find it on Amazon or other online or brick-and-mortar retailer.

The company goes the extra mile by using top-notch ingredients in this nootropic stack. Including patented and science-backed Ajipure® L-Tyrosine, Cognizin® and Sharp PS® Green. And their Pine Bark Extract is the most potent form available.

The company uses vegan NutriCaps® infused with prebiotics for capsules to ensure quick and better absorption. And testing before and after encapsulation of each batch of product.

And Performance Lab® also offers a risk-free, “empty bottle”, money-back guarantee if you are not happy with any of their products.

So if you’d like try Performance Lab Mind, or learn about this exceptional line of supplements, please explore their website. And while you’re there you can: get Performance Lab® Mind

Hello David,

I take Vyvanse 50 mg per day for brain fog and concentration even though I have not confirmed ADHD.

I want to ask if I can take Mind supplement when I take Vyvanse or if I should stop during the days I take the medication?

Also, could you please tell me if L-Tyrosine interacts with Vyvanse and, if not, do you recommend taking it with Vyvanse?

Thanks a lot.

    David Tomen
    July 27, 2022

Salome, Performance Lab Mind and/or L-Tyrosine support the use of Vyvanse because the supplement provides the dopamine the drug uses to provide its benefit.

      David, Thanks for your reply.

Do you have any dosage recommendations for L-Tyrosine with Vyvanse 50 mg?

I just don’t want to overstimulate myself and increase anxiety.

      Thanks for your help.

        David Tomen
        July 29, 2022

For ADHD with stimulants the standard adult dosage of L-Tyrosine is 500 mg 3-times per day. Morning, noon and around 4 pm. The last dose is to prevent the stimulant crash.

If that is too much the cut the dose in half (250 mg) 3-times per day.

Thanks David for your reply. And I would like to ask you the last thing if you don’t mind.
Can I take L-Tryptophan with Vyvanse and L-Tyrosine? If so, how much and when do you recommend taking it?

        Thanks a lot!

        David Tomen
        August 2, 2022

        500 mg L-Tryptophan 60 to 90 minutes before bed.

        Salome
        August 3, 2022

So if understood well Tryptophan doesn’t interact with Vyvanse and taking Vyvanse in the morning and Tryptophan at night is not an issue. Correct?

        David Tomen
        August 3, 2022

Salome, the primary reason for using Tryptophan at night is to increase serotonin which goes on make melatonin. This is critically important for those with ADHD who are increasing dopamine during day. Dopamine needs to be in balance with serotonin. So, we increase dopamine as needed during the day. And balance that by increasing serotonin during the night.

        Salome
        August 4, 2022

Ok very clear explanation; thanks a lot, David.

One last question I got is, can I add to this stuck the product, which includes 30 mg Saffron and 300 mg Rhodiola Rosea in the morning?

In other words, can Vyvanse, L-Tryptophan, L-Tyrosine, Saffron, and Rhodiola can all these be taken on the same day?

I just want to ensure there is no fundamental interaction between all these supplements and Vyvanse.

        David Tomen
        August 4, 2022

Salome, you can definitely use them all in the same day. Just get your timing and dosage right. Including two doses of L-Tyrosine per day. And possibly Rhodiola Rosea depending on your dosage.

L-Tryptophan should be used before bed because once it make serotonin it goes on to help make melatonin. Which is your sleep hormone.

        Salome
        August 4, 2022

David Thanks a lot for such a quick reply!

To clarify, I have Rhodiola / Saffron tablet which has 180 mg of Rhodiola (SHR-5) and 30 mg of Saffron per capsule.
So I can take Saffron, Rhodiola, and Tyrosine 500 mg twice per day; that’s what you recommend, right?

And I take my Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) 50 mg in the morning and L-Tryptophane 500 mg at night.

Sorry to disturb you so much, and thank you so much for your help!!!

Salome, twice per day should work for you.

Hi David, I need to pass a high stakes exam for my profession. I am 63, and need to be focused, and have a high level of concentration. The exam is timed, so need quick problem solving, decision making processes as well. I wanted to take Modafinil, but it contains a sulphur molecule, and I am allergic to sulphites. I have a hard time focusing on exams when I am stressed, and need laser focus for this. Please could you let me know what you would recommend? Thank you in advance.

Terri, there is no one-pill solution for what you are trying to do. This article is nootropics for studying: https://nootropicsexpert.com/best-nootropics-for-studying/. Which also applies to writing exams.

But the thing is you can’t do this days before your big day and expect to get results. You are 63 and there is a lot of wear and tear on your body and brain. Which needs to be reversed and then supported to get everything working again like when you were in your 20’s.

Hi, thanks so much for your kind information. I truly appreciate it. I am going to give Mind Lab Pro a try for a few months before the exam, and take my own stimulant, organic Matcha green tea, that works well. I also heard that Qualia is a great product, but you seem to swear by Mind Lab Pro, in terms of your own experience. I might give you a call if this is not working after some time.

        April 20, 2021

Terri, I’ve tried most of the other popular nootropic stacks on the market including Qualia. And keep coming back to Mind Lab Pro. Because it works better than any of the others. And is less expensive as well when compared to a supplement like Qualia.

        Terri
        April 21, 2021

Thank you very much, David, for that advice. I like that Mind Lab Pro does not contain caffeine, as too much caffeine works against me in being able to focus during exams. I like to be able to control which type of caffeine I use, and how much. I am also going to take a good vitamin mineral supplement, CoQ10, and DHA. Can you please let me know when to take Mind Lab Pro and Matcha tea on exam day for the best results? Thanks!

        David Tomen
        April 22, 2021

Terri, Mind Lab Pro and your other supplements will work best if you use them everyday consistently before the exam. Then on exam day you just take them an hour before you start and you’ll get all the benefits they offer.

But all of those supplements work best and provide the most benefit if they are used daily or twice daily depending on dosage recommendations. Because you are repairing your brain well before the big event. So you’re in top shape when the time comes that you really need an optimized brain.

Jena, there is no direct natural alternative for Adderall. If it is to treat ADD or ADHD I suggest reading my post on ADHD here: https://nootropicsexpert.com/best-nootropics-for-adhd-add/

Performance Lab Stim works in about 15 minutes of your first dose. It’ll provide a feeling of pure, clean energy for a couple of hours. But nothing like a dose Adderall.

Hi David,

I have tried Alpha Brain but I am going to Switch to Mind Lab Pro after watching your video.

My mother, whos is 80 years old, is repeating what she is saying a lot and finding it difficult to think of the word she is searching for. Would Mind Lab Pro help her in this respect. She is not on a lot of other medication.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Can it be stacked with Modafinil ?

Menal, yes it can. But every brain is different and you many find that this stack will work better with extra L-Tyrosine and Citicoline.

Hi David,

I’ve just ordered Performance Lab Mind, hoping to address my brain fog and overthinking/worrying issues. Do you think that this could help also with mild OCD (repetitive behaviors)?

I’ve seen that PLM should be taken with a quality multivitamin:
I’m already taking Life Extension’s Two per Day multivitamin

Do you think think that I could continue to use this multivitamin?

The rest of my stack is below – do you see any potential bad interaction?

* additional magnesium and vit D
* fish oil (Life Extension Super Omega 3)
* vit E complex and boron (natural way to support good testosterone levels)
* bacopa, cycled with reishi and schisandra (for more deep sleep)
* pycnogenol and citrulline malate: they should help with cold hands and feet
* N-Acetyl Glucosamine
* I’d like to add also NAC, since I’ve read that it should help with OCD issues

Thanks for your help!

Jack, it’ll certainly help. But it also helps to know what’s causing your brain fog. And it could be a ton of things. This post will help you understand what I mean: https://nootropicsexpert.com/best-supplements-for-brain-fog/.

Please read through that post and check off the supplements you are already using that are mentioned in that post. Then just add the ones that are missing and eventually your brain fog should vanish.

The Life Extension multi uses some of the right vitamins and minerals. But then they ruin the supplement with “Other ingredients: vegetable cellulose (capsule), starch, maltodextrin, vegetable stearate, dicalcium phosphate, silica, microcrystalline cellulose.”

A far better multi in my opinion is the Performance Lab Wholefood Multi. It’s pure and doesn’t contain any other ingredients.

Thanks mate, following your advise I’ve ordered Performance Lab multivitamin!

I’ve checked the ingredients and it seems really great indeed: in your opinion (not considering the specific supplements for brain fog – I’ll check the link you provided) is there anything missing? For general health and well being what should I add to the combo Performance Lab Mind + Multivitamin?

To me, it seems that as a basic stack I should add only magnesium and fish oil, maybe additional vit E and boron considering my goals.
Probably also vit D, since in the multi there is only 1000UI.
I’d put also an adaptogen in the mix (e.g. bacopa or holy basil). What do you think?

One last question: do you have any experience with TONGKAT ALI? I’ve seen that brain fog could be caused also by low testosterone (I found out that I have a varicocele) and it should help in that regard.

Thank you for your help and keep up the AWESOME work!

Jack, please DO NOT use fish oil and select a high quality, pure DHA supplement instead. Because you need 1,000 mg DHA per day. Fish Oil is a bad idea on so many levels that I can’t go into it here. See my review on DHA at least please: https://nootropicsexpert.com/dha/

Adding more chelated magnesium and Vitamin D are also good ideas. And if you are unsure I’d suggest trying Bacopa Monnieri for a month and then the next month try Holy Basil. See which one works better for you.

And low-t will absolutely cause brain fog. I have not done the research on Tongkat Ali so suggest getting this info from someone who specializes in male hormone health. And depending on your age and situation you may want to consider working with a hormone replacement doctor who specializes in male hormones like testosterone and limiting estrogen.

But if you want to start on the ‘natural’ route for raising testosterone a supplement that works for a lot of guys is the Performance Lab T-Booster: https://www.performancelab.com/products/t-booster

Thanks David, I’ll follow your indications and try a pure DHA supplement in place of fish oil.

Jack, this DHA by Carlson is the one I’ve used for that last couple of months and it works well: https://amzn.to/36S3dc2

Hi David

I have a situation with Mind Lab Pro, I took it for 4 days in a row and had to stop it for insomnia and iiritability. I don’t drink coffee or did something else along with it. What can I do.

Robert, what time of the day did you take Mind Lab Pro?

Hi. Robert , I had the same effects when I started MLP. I took 2 in the morning and my energy was like 101% until 2am. it lasted for me 7 days in a row. I can feel my brain very active but eyes was tired. I really advise first time users to take 1 when starting out MLP. After that I felt back the same not knowing whether I am used to “new” one of me or I had grown tolerance to it.

Wong, starting out with a lower dose of a new supplement is a great idea if you’ve never used it before. And don’t know how it will affect you.

The dosage of each ingredient in Performance Lab Mind are calculated to provide the most benefit. Without overloading your neurons and causing things like tolerance issues.

I cant see the Mind beeing cheaper then the Mind lab pro! In eruos the mind lab pro is 165 for 4 boxes of 60 tabs each= 0,69/tab ->0,69×2=1,37E/dose (2 tabs = one dose)

The mind is: 121,5 for 3 boxes with 30 each: 1,34E/tab (1 tab = 1 dose)

The difference is negliable. The questions is if the extra NALT of Mind (175 vs 300) is more worth than the B-vitamins, L-theanine, Rosea, Bacopa and lions mane. Any comments on that?

Torben, Mind Lab Pro is designed to be a stand-alone’ nootropic supplement stack. In other words, you can use MLP and experience the benefits without adding anything else to your stack.

Performance Lab Mind was designed to work together with their Whole-Food Multi supplement which supplies the B-Vitamins.

I personally find that using Mind Lab Pro, the Performance Lab Multi and Performance Lab Energy works best for me. But your experience may be different. It’s possible the Performance Lab Whole-Food Multi and their Mind formula would work better for you.
