Is Avantera Elevate worth it? In this article, we review its ingredients and effectiveness to see if it lives up to its claims.

Key Takeaways

  1. Avantera Elevate has solid ingredients but may not deliver the desired effects due to low dosages.
  2. While it’s vegan and allergen-free, the lack of ingredient transparency and third-party testing raises concerns.
  3. Users report mixed results—some feel more focused and energized, while others find it underwhelming compared to other nootropics.
  4. There’s a better nootropic stack out there- click here to learn about Mind Lab Pro®

Avantera Elevate is a relatively newer addition to the nootropics space having gained a small footprint in the market since at least 2021.

Avantera Health’s mission is to empower individuals to lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives by enhancing what they consume.

They are committed to creating premium quality products that support overall well-being, aligning with their core values of uncompromising quality, customer-centricity, and societal impact.

But does Avantera Elevate live up to their claims?

Avantera Elevate supplement reviewThousands of people have reached out to ask me about nootropic brands via personal consultations, emails and on the comment threads on Nootropics Expert and the Nootropics Expert YouTube channel.

So, I bought a bottle of Avantera Elevate to see for myself if their marketing claims matched what it felt like to use their supplement.

There is a lot of hype around this nootropic brand, with their website claiming over 10,000 reviews. With at least 5,000 verified 5-star reviews, surely, it’s one of the best nootropics out there.

Right?

Well, Avantera Elevate has excellent ingredients. But what I’ve found and what others say is that the dosing of each ingredient in this pre-made nootropic stack may not be enough to achieve the desired effects. Still, perhaps it has a place in your nootropic stack.

So is Avantera Elevate the right choice for you?

In my quick opinion, there are better nootropics available at a similar price. While Avantera Elevate offers vegan, allergen-free, non-GMO, gluten-free formulations, and claim third-party testing, I think we should see if these claims hold up under scrutiny.

That is what I’m going to cover in this Avantera Elevate review.

It is my hope that reading this in-depth review will help you make better choices for yourself.

You will have all the information you need to make an educated decision on whether or not Avantera Elevate is right for you before buying.

And to be completely transparent, I believe Mind Lab Pro® may be the best choice over the hundreds of pre-made nootropics stacks on the market today.

What is Avantera Elevate?

Avantera Elevate is a premium nootropic dietary supplement manufactured by Avantera Health based in Austin, Texas. And the company manufactures their supplements in a GMP-certified facility somewhere in Nevada, USA.

The company states that their intention is to enhance alertness, energy, memory, focus, learning ability, clear mental fog, and creativity.

Designed as a general wellness supplement, it targets individuals who seek to improve their cognitive and brain functions while following a healthy lifestyle.

The Avantera Health team has combined 7 nootropic ingredients into a plant-based capsule. Which is not as many ingredients as some other premium pre-made nootropic stacks.

Avantera’s Elevate boasts vegan, allergen-free, non-GMO, and gluten-free formulations. But bold claims need evidence to back them up, so let’s take a closer look.

The company uses ‘proprietary blends‘ which by their very nature, lack the transparency of what I consider to be a premium nootropic stack. Because you don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting in each dose.

And their claims of 3rd Party Testing are nowhere to be found on their website or deeply hidden.

Does Avantera Elevate workHow Does Avantera Elevate Work?

Avantera Elevate is designed to provide cognitive support and support brain function by increasing levels of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine and dopamine.

We’ll take a closer look at its impact on focus, energy, mood-boosting properties, and gut health.

Focus and Energy Efficiency

Avantera Elevate contains ingredients like Green Tea Extract (caffeine), CDP-Choline, and L-Theanine, which are known for their focus and energy-boosting properties.

Caffeine elevates mental clarity and increases energy levels, making it a key component of the supplement.

But the boost from caffeine is short-lived and may result in a sudden drop in energy after its effects wear off.

L-Theanine complements caffeine by reducing cortisol which helps relieve anxiety while improving focus, providing balanced cognitive enhancement.

The synergistic effect of caffeine and L-Theanine enhances cognition, leading to improved mental function and stress reduction.

Mood Boosting Properties

The effectiveness of Avantera Elevate for mood enhancement has been reported as minimal by long-term users.

Lion’s Mane is known for its potential benefits in brain cell growth and mood balancing. L-Theanine works in synergy with caffeine to heighten focus and reduce stress during intense cognitive tasks.

But some users experienced issues with caffeine sensitivity, leading to side effects such as jitteriness and insomnia.

Overall, cognitive enhancement from Avantera Elevate may support improved mood, alongside stress reduction and overall feelings of well-being.

Targets Gut Health

Certain ingredients in Avantera Elevate known to support gut health include Turmeric and Lion’s Mane mushroom.

Turmeric is recognized for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, which may support gut function.[i] However, this dietary supplement is half the recommended dose so is unlikely to provide much brain support.

The supplement supports communication between the gut and brain and encourages a balanced microbiome.

Lion’s Mane mushroom in Avantera Elevate is associated with promoting gut health by improving gut flora composition and reducing inflammation.[ii]

What are the Ingredients in Avantera Elevate?

The ingredients in Avantera Elevate are associated with memory support, reduced stress, and enhanced focus.

The product includes ingredients like CDP Choline, L-Theanine, Turmeric, and green tea extract (Caffeine), which are noted for their cognitive benefits.

However, many of the ingredients in Avantera Elevate are underdosed, raising concerns about their efficacy.

NOTE: this section is the most detailed part of this review. I encourage you to read it because it explains how the ingredients work and why they are included in this stack.

Avantera Elevate contains proprietary ingredient blends without transparent ingredient dosages

Bacopa Monnieri

Bacopa Monnieri 300 mg (50% bacosides) – speeds learning time and improves memory function including recall.[iii]

This is the only ingredient in this nootropic formula which is transparent in their dosage. In other words, you know exactly how much Bacopa Monnieri you are getting when you take this supplement.

Also known as Brahmi, Bacopa Monnieri is traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for enhancing memory and cognitive functions.

The active compounds in Bacopa Monnieri, called bacosides, have neuroprotective and antioxidant properties. These bacosides protect brain cells from free radicals which prevents cell damage and brain cell death.[iv]

However, side effects associated with higher doses of Bacopa Monnieri are rare but can include digestive issues such as nausea, and fatigue.

Bacopa Monnieri also enhances acetylcholine, GABA, dopamine, and serotonin levels, which are linked to heightened focus, improved memory, mental clarity, a better mood, and overall brain health.[v]

Bacopa Monnieri even helps increase cerebral circulation.[vi]

L-Theanine (Part of their Focus and Energy Blend)

L-Theanine (as Suntheanine®) is included in their proprietary ‘Focus and Energy Blend– L-Theanine enhances focus, sleep, immune system strength, and blood pressure regulation.

L-Theanine boosts alpha and theta brain waves, which are linked to relaxation and increased creativity.[vii]

It also helps reduce cortisol while promoting calming neurotransmitters like serotonin and GABA.

This results in improved attention, alertness, and focus, assisting with creative problem-solving, learning, and studying.

Turmeric Extract (Part of their Mood & Gut Health Blend)

Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) extract is included at a very low and unknown dose in their ‘Mood & Gut Health Blend’. And we don’t know what percentage of curcuminoids are in this extract. Which is a shame because some Neurohackers say that Turmeric or Curcumin is one of the best nootropics.

Turmeric (Curcumin) does offer extraordinary nootropic benefits. And the curcuminoids in this extract surpass many modern medications used to address neurodegenerative conditions like depression, Alzheimer’s, and stroke.

On a molecular level, Turmeric enhances neurogenesis and boosts the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.[viii] It is a potent antioxidant, safeguarding the brain from chronic inflammation.

And Turmeric at the proper dosage is used to treat digestive issues, skin conditions, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, liver function, protect DNA from damage, and alleviate chest and abdominal pain.

The thing is the dose in this stack is so low as to not likely provide much benefit.

CDP-Choline (Part of their Focus and Energy Blend)

CDP-Choline (Citicoline) an unknown amount of this ingredient is included in their proprietary ‘Focus and Energy Blend‘ – Also known as Citicoline, this naturally occurring brain chemical is often included in dietary supplements to support memory and cognitive function.

CDP-Choline is unique as a choline source. Once it’s digested it separates into cytidine and choline. When it gets to your brain it converts back to CDP-Choline.

CDP-Choline helps increase levels of acetylcholine which is involved in concentration, memory and cognitive function. And provides energy for your brain when under sustained mental effort.

Green Tea Extract – Caffeine (Part of their Focus and Energy Blend)

Caffeine 45 mg (green tea extract) – Caffeine is the most widely consumed psychoactive substance globally. As a nootropic, it us known to boost reaction time, alertness, memory, and mood.

Caffeine acts as an adenosine antagonist, influencing acetylcholine, epinephrine (adrenaline), and serotonin, while enhancing the utilization of dopamine.[ix] This provides the stimulating effect typically experienced with caffeine intake.

Caffeine also offers protective benefits by boosting the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Research indicates that regular caffeine consumption might help protect against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Caffeine can improve mood within an hour of taking it. And it works by increasing the density of GABA receptors, enhancing dopamine, and making some serotonin receptors more responsive.

BioPerine® aka Piperine (Part of their Mood and Gut Health Blend)

Piperine (as BioPerine®) undisclosed dose – Piperine is a black pepper extract and used in supplements to enhance and expedite absorption.

When combined with supplements like curcumin, Piperine can inhibit your liver from breaking down Curcumin so it can be absorbed. Piperine can also elevate the levels of other supplements and prescription meds in your body, which can be beneficial in some cases, but potentially harmful in others.

You will often find BioPerine® included in various nootropic or supplement formulations. BioPerine® is a trademarked form of Piperine that is included in nootropic stacks to increase the bioavailability of various nutrients.

Organic Lion’s Mane Mushroom (Part of their Gut Health Blend)

Lion’s Mane Mushroom dose unknown – is used for enhancing memory, neuron repair, liver detoxification, and managing blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

Lion’s Mane Mushroom stands out among medicinal mushrooms for its brain health benefits. The active compound called erinacines promote Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), leading to increased neurogenesis and the synthesis of the myelin sheath for axons, enhancing overall cognitive function.[x]

This results in improved neuroplasticity, essential for encoding long-term memory, and the repair and maintenance of neurons, dendrites, axons, and synapses for better long term brain health.

The problem with including Lion’s Mane extract in this nootropic supplement is the active erinacines which help boost Nerve Growth Factor is only found in the mycelium of this mushroom.[xi]

Avantera Health declares on their supplement facts label that they use the fruiting body of this mushroom. Which does not contain any of the active compound erinacine.

But the fruiting body of Lion’s Mane which is used in this blend does contain hericenones which helps prevent Alzheimer’s.[xii]

Avantera Elevate recommended daily dosageAvantera Elevate Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage for Avantera Elevate is two capsules per dose, on an empty stomach, within an hour of waking up.

Personally, I did not feel any benefit when following Avantera Health’s recommended dosage guidelines. But I take a lot of other supplements so my experience may not be a fair evaluation of the efficacy of this pre-made nootropic stack.

You may find that the reduced dosages of most of the ingredients in this supplement work well for you.

Avantera Elevate Reviews – Are Customers Happy with Avantera Elevate?

Customer reviews and feedback on Avantera ElevateNeurohackers who have used Avantera Elevate often report a significant boost in mental energy and focus, and better productivity. Users may start to feel the effects of Avantera Elevate within 30 minutes (likely due to caffeine), but individual experiences can vary.

Avantera’s website reviews show 4.5 out of 5 stars. But rated only 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon due to limited cognitive benefits, lack of ingredient transparency, and some report feeling nauseous after using it.

The main problem with a pre-made nootropic stack like Avantera Elevate is when you include caffeine in your supplement.

Even with ineffective amounts of the other ingredients in this stack, users will report a benefit from using the stack. Not realizing it is the caffeine they are feeling and not necessarily the benefits from the entire stack.

Including caffeine in a pre-made nootropic stack is dishonesty in my opinion by the manufacturer.

Elevate Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Initially affordable via subscription, offering a mix of beneficial ingredients.
  • Made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients in a GMP certified facility.
  • Vegan, non-GMO, and contains no added sugar.
  • One dose is only two capsules which make it easy to take.
  • Includes turmeric which may promote better gut health.
  • BioPerine® in the formula enhances absorption and effectiveness of other ingredients.
  • 30-day money-back guarantee

Cons

  • Dosage levels of all ingredients, with the exception of Bacopa Monnieri, are too low to provide significant benefits.
  • The product heavily relies on caffeine for immediate impact and is missing essential nootropic components found in premium pre-made nootropic stacks.
  • The company uses the wrong form of Lion’s Mane Mushroom to back the claim they make for this nootropic mushroom’s inclusion in this stack.
  • Specific ingredient dosages are not disclosed because they use proprietary blends.
  • The company provides no proof that this supplement has undergone 3rd-party testing to verify quality and purity.
  • Avantera includes magnesium stearate as an “other ingredient” in this supplement.

What is Avantera Elevate Missing?

Elevate is missing key clinically validated nootropic ingredients that are commonly found in other effective cognitive supplements like B-vitamins, L-Tyrosine, and Rhodiola Rosea.

And Avantera Elevate ingredient dosages are not disclosed which means you don’t know the exact amount of each component, which can make it a bit risky as a supplement.

It’s also missing 3rd-party testing documents and scientific evidence backing the safety and efficacy of their proprietary blends.

Avantera Elevate Side Effects

Mild gastrointestinal problems, such as nausea or diarrhea, are reported by some individuals. Some users may experience anxiety or restlessness due to the caffeine content.

Caffeine Sensitivity

If you are sensitive to caffeine, you may feel jitters. Sensitivity to caffeine can lead to feelings of jitteriness or increased heart rate in some users.

Energy Crashes

The boost from caffeine is short-lived and may result in a sudden drop in energy after its effects wear off. Users may experience a rapid decline in energy levels following the initial caffeine boost.

Interactions with Medications

Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties can interact with blood thinners, affecting clotting.

Is Avantera Elevate Right for You?

That is the question I first asked at the beginning of this review.

Hopefully by now you have a better understanding of what this product is and what it does.

Avantera Elevate may not be the most effective option as its ingredient doses are below the recommended amount to deliver significant benefits.

[insert image of young man holding a brain and use text: “how much does Avantera Elevate cost and is it worth it”]

While it may be a good choice for some who are searching for cognitive support, experienced Neurohackers need higher dosages of most of the ingredients in this stack to feel any benefit.

For example, Lion’s Mane Mushroom extract is the best way I know to boost Nerve Growth Factor. But you need a minimum of 500 mg of Lion’s Mane extract. And a supplement that includes mycelium which is where the active compound erinacine is found in Lion’s Mane Mushroom. The Lion’s Mane extract used in this formula includes only the fruiting body of the mushroom.

The effective nootropic dosage for CDP-Choline is 250 – 300 mg. But it’s a mystery how much is in this stack. We can assume the amount is much lower because their entire ‘Focus and Energy Blend‘ is only 295 mg.

This blend also includes 45 mg Caffeine and an unknown amount of L-Theanine. Leaving little room for an effective dose of CDP-Choline.

For a more tailored approach to your cognitive health needs, consider a nootropic stack specifically designed for your unique challenges. No single dietary supplement or pre-made nootropic stack can offer this level of customization.

If you need help with figuring out which nootropics are best for you and the brain health issues you’re dealing with, I recommend scheduling a Personal Consultation with me. Together, we can create a stack that is perfectly suited to your needs.

How Much Does Avantera Elevate Cost?

A 30-day supply of Avantera Elevate if you use the recommended 2 capsules per day is $64.95 (+ shipping).

Or you can save some money by subscribing to get the product at $49.95 per bottle.

Nootropics Expert® Recommendation

Nootropics Expert Tested and ApprovedAvantera Elevate’s fewer ingredients approach is a big selling point for simple formulas, but the proprietary blends used in this nootropic supplement means you do not know how much of each ingredient you are taking with each dose.

Other potential limitations include a limited benefit on cognitive performance and mental performance compared to other premium pre-made nootropic stacks like Mind Lab Pro.

Mind Lab Pro® stands out as a bestselling alternative with a comprehensive formula for improved cognitive function. Dollar for dollar, Mind Lab Pro® is a better value compared to Avantera Elevate in my opinion.

If you are looking for a high quality pre-made stack that works and is scientifically backed by 3 clinical studies, I recommend Mind Lab Pro®. I have been using it every day since early 2016 and it works.

But if you would like to try Avantera Elevate you can get it here: Avantera Elevate. if you’re not completely satisfied you can always come back to Mind Lab Pro®.

Does Avantera Elevate Really Work?

You may feel a little energy boost when first taking Avantera Elevate. That’s the caffeine you feel. But if used long-term you may feel more of the benefits the company claims in their marketing copy.

That has not been my experience, but I have a nootropic stack that I’ve used for many years. And may not be the best judge of the possible nootropic value of this pre-made stack.
