What is Mind Lab Pro 4.0?
Mind Lab Pro® 4.0 is the latest updated formula for what has become the top selling nootropic stack in the world.
Over 1 million bottles of Mind Lab Pro have been sold in six continents.
It has gained thousands of 5-star customer reviews. And Mind Lab Pro has undergone a double-blind, placebo controlled trial conducted independently by Leeds University in the U.K.
Dr. Andrea Utley of the University of Leeds reports, “The results of the initial three-month study are impressive, to say the least. I was surprised by the degree of statistical significance. We have submitted our finding to peer-reviewed scientific journals for publication. We are soon to begin work on the next phase” of scientific brain health research.
The team at Opti Nutra Ltd designed and introduced Mind Lab Pro in 2015. It is a combination of 11 natural nootropic ingredients.
Mind Lab Pro was formulated to target 6 brain pathways for optimal brain function. And better over-all for improving cognitive function.
Mind Lab Pro claims it as “the world’s first Universal Nootropic” and is intended to boost all aspects of cognition.
Mind Lab Pro is used by professionals, active older adults, athletes, students of all ages, and those in competitive sports and games. Anyone looking for improved cognitive benefits.
Opti Nutra Ltd.’s headquarters are located in Royal Leamington Spa in the U.K. And Mind Lab Pro is manufactured in the U.S.A.
How Does Mind Lab Pro Work To Ensure Long-Term Brain Health?
Mind Lab Pro contains 11 multi-tasking natural nootropic ingredients supporting 6 aspects to improve cognitive function.
Most Mind Lab Pro competitors target 2 or 3 brain pathways only. Using synthetics or botanicals narrowly focused to address memory or concentration or longevity.
Mind Lab Pro on the other hand is intended to unlock 100% of your brain function by optimizing 4 key mental performance categories.
Mind Lab Pro works by:
Improve Brain Energy
The combination of Citicoline, Phosphatidylserine (PS), Pine Bark Extract, Rhodiola Rosea, and Vitamins B9 and B12 work in synergy. For faster memory encoding, quicker recall and reaction time, and stress resistance.
Increasing Brain Blood Flow
Citicoline, Bacopa Monnieri, Pine Bark Extract, and Vitamins B6, B9 and B12 work together to increase blood brain circulation.
The result is improve memory recall, processing speed, verbal fluidity, creativity, and better brain repair and maintenance.
Supporting Brain Waves
Citicoline and L-Theanine work in concert to optimize neural electrical signaling for quicker thinking. And support Alpha and Theta brain waves for enhanced creativity.
It keeps you alert and focused while studying and for problem solving.
Citicoline, Phosphatidylserine (PS), L-Tyrosine, L-Theanine, Rhodiola Rosea, and Vitamins B6 and B9 combined increase and support key neurotransmitters including acetylcholine, dopamine, GABA, and serotonin.
You enjoy better learning and memory, quicker reaction time, optimal mental performance under high stress, better mood, and less anxiety.
Citicoline, Phosphatidylserine (PS), Bacopa Monnieri, and Lion’s Mane Mushroom work together for brain plasticity, long-term potentiation needed to encode long-term memory.
Mental processing speed, motivation, and longevity all get a boost with this combo.
Brain Neuroprotection & Less Brain Fog
All 11 ingredients in this premium nootropic stack support long term optimal brain chemistry and health for optimal mental performance no matter what your age.
Brain cell repair, heightened cognitive function, membrane fluidity, neurotransmitter synthesis, Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) all contribute for better long term brain health, brain protection and maintenance.
What Are The Natural Ingredients in Mind Lab Pro?
This is the updated nootropic formula used in Mind Lab Pro that works so well for me. And for millions of other neurohackers around the world.
NOTE: this section is the most detailed part of this review. I encourage you to read it because it explains how and why Mind Lab Pro works so well to improve cognitive function.
Bacopa Monnieri 150 mg (24% bacosides w/ 9 bioactives) – speeds learning time and improves memory including recall.[i]
The active bacosides in Bacopa Monnieri protect brain cells from free radicals which prevents cell damage and brain cell death.
Bacopa Monnieri also supports acetylcholine, GABA, and serotonin – all tied to improved focus, clear memory, mental clarity, a better mood, and overall brain health. Bacopa Monnieri even helps increase cerebral circulation.
Citicoline 250 mg – is a precursor to the synthesis of acetylcholine for better brain cell signaling which results in enhanced attention, concentration, memory, logical reasoning, learning and focus. And less brain fog.[ii]
Citicoline also helps synthesize phosphatidylcholine (PC), a major phospholipid needed for keeping brain cell membranes permeable and flexible which eases the flow of neurotransmitters, oxygen, and nutrients.
Phosphatidylserine (PS) (as Sharp PS® Green) 100 mg – is one of the more powerful nootropic supplements because it supports short-term memory, the consolidation of long-term memory, improve mental clarity, the ability to create new memories, the ability to retrieve memories, the ability to focus attention and concentrate, the ability to reason and solve problems, language skills, the ability to communicate, and slows mental decline.[iii]
Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid making up 15% of your brain cell membranes. Maintaining cellular fluidity, optimizing neuroreceptors and promoting acetylcholine and dopamine. PS also increases Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) to help neurogenesis, brain cell maintenance and repair.
The Phosphatidylserine used in Mind Lab Pro is the only nootropic supplement with an American FDA-approved claim for reducing the risk of cognitive decline in the human brain.
Lion’s Mane Mushroom
Lion’s Mane Mushroom (organic full spectrum, fruiting body) 500 mg – is effective for improving memory, neuron repair, liver detox, and regulating blood sugar and cholesterol levels.[iv]
Lion’s Mane Mushroom is one of the very few medicinal mushrooms that supports brain health. The active hericenones and erinacines stimulate Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) which increases neurogenesis, and myelin axon sheath synthesis for better cognitive function.[v]
You experience improved neuroplasticity, which is required for encoding long-term memory, and the repair and maintenance of neurons, dendrites, axons, and synapses for better long term brain health.[vi]
Rhodiola Rosea (3% rosavins and 1% salidrosides) 50 mg – improves mental performance under stress and puts you in a better mood.[vii]
Rhodiola Rosea helps you feel better by influencing dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and the feel-good opioids like beta-endorphins in your brain. And it boosts neurogenesis for better memory, activates the synthesis of ATP for cellular energy, and reduces the inflammatory C-reactive protein (CRP) for improved cognition.
L-Theanine 100 mg – improves focus , sleep, immune system strength, and blood pressure control.
L-Theanine increases alpha brain waves associated with relaxation and enhanced creativity. It also helps reduce cortisol while promoting calming neurotransmitters like serotonin and GABA. You experience better attention, alertness and focus which helps you with creative problem solving, learning, and studying.[viii]
N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine (NALT)
N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine (NALT) 175 mg – is an enhanced form of the amino acid L-Tyrosine which is required for the synthesis of dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. By boosting these catecholamines you experience improved cognition and memory, and it helps put you in a better mood.
NALT has been shown to promote working memory when multitasking. And NALT helps you optimize mental performance especially under increased cognitive demand while under stress, fatigue, and sleep deprivation.[ix]
Maritime Pine Bark Extract
Maritime Pine Bark Extract (95% proanthocyanidins) 75 mg – is used to increase nitric oxide which helps dilate blood vessels for better cerebral blood flow. This delivers more oxygen and glucose to your brain cells for more energy, better learning and memory, enhanced focus, and an elevated mood, and to improve cognitive functioning.[x]
Pine Bark Extract is one the most potent antioxidants ever discovered. Scavenging free radicals to protect neurons from oxidative damage.
Vitamin B6 (NutriGenesis® pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P)) 2.5 mg – is a required cofactor for the synthesis of dopamine, GABA, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Which influences your mood, increases melatonin for better sleep, and helps regulate your body clock.[xi]
B6 also helps protect your brain from excess homocysteine that can damage blood vessel linings and lead to brain fog. And B6 helps form myelin which is the protective sheath that surrounds axons used for signal transmission in your brain and body.
Vitamin B9 (NutriGenesis® methyl-folate) 100 mcg – participates in one-carbon transfers for the synthesis of DNA and RNA. And it works with the other two B-Vitamins in this stack helping to regulate homocysteine levels.[xii]
Folate is also involved in gene expression, amino acid synthesis, and myelin synthesis and repair.
Vitamin B12 (NutriGenesis® methylcobalamin) 7.5 mcg – required to regulate homocysteine levels in your brain and body.
B12 is also a required cofactor in the synthesis of dopamine, GABA, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Low levels of Vitamin B12 have been linked to poor mood and cognition leading to cognitive decline at any age.[xiii]
One of the things that stands out in this nootropic stack and makes it even more unique is Mind Lab Pro® 4.0 chooses to use their proprietary NutriGenesis® form of vitamins. No other nootropic supplement manufacturer can make this claim.
The B-Vitamins used in this stack are bio-identical to ensure they are completely absorbed for use by your body and brain.
Mind Lab Pro Recommended Dosage
The amount of each ingredient I detailed above is for Mind Lab Pro’s recommended 2-capsules per day.
You can safely increase your dose of Mind Lab Pro to 4-capsules per day. 2 in the morning and 2 at noon.
Like every nootropic, it’s always better to start low and see how your body and brain react before increasing your dose.
Mind Lab Pro Reviews – Are Customers Happy With Mind Lab Pro?
Mind Lab Pro® has developed a world-wide reputation for being the best premium nootropic stack. A bar which no other nootropic supplement manufacturer has been able to match.
Here are the words real customers used to tell how they feel about using Mind Lab Pro® and how it worked for them. Which helps explain how Mind Lab Pro® grew to become the bestselling pre-made premium nootropic supplement stack on earth.
Here are just a few …

Is Mind Lab Pro Right for You?
That is the question I posed at the beginning of this review.
You should now have a better sense of what Mind Lab Pro is, and what it does. You can stop your search because you have found the best pre-made nootropic stack on planet.
Mind Lab Pro is designed to be a great overall, universal nootropic stack that works for most people. It does that and it does it very well.
But is Mind Lab Pro the right choice for you?
It was not designed to address specific cognitive health problems such as autism, ADHD, OCD, clinical anxiety or depression, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or Huntington’s Disease.
If you are dealing with any of these cognitive health issues Mind Lab Pro® 4.0 may be a good beginner’s stack to get you started with nootropics.
Because it will likely take a deeper dive into the issues you are dealing with. And a nootropic stack that is designed for your unique cognitive health issues. No pre-made nootropic stack or single dietary supplement can do that.
If you need help with specific issues I suggest booking a Personal Consultation with me. And we’ll design a stack that works specifically for you.
How Much Does Mind Lab Pro Cost?
A 30-day supply of Mind Lab Pro if you use the recommended 2 capsules per day is only $69 (+ shipping).
Or you can save some money by choosing a 3-month supply (3 bottles) of Mind Lab Pro0 and get one bottle free (including free international shipping) for only $207. That saves you 25% and works out to only $51.75 per bottle.
Nootropics Expert® Recommendation
I recommend Mind Lab Pro as the best premium nootropic stack for total brain optimization and cognitive performance.
Pricing of Mind Lab Pro is competitive for what you get. Some on reddit.com and other blogs have commented that you can only get Mind Lab Pro from their website. And complain that they do not offer a free trial.
I’ve been in this business for many years and completely understand the problem with offering a free trial. You simply cannot when you are selling a high-quality dietary supplement product at the best price you can to stay competitive..
And a free trial is not needed when you have a 100% risk-free, money-back guarantee.
The company also chose not to sell Mind Lab Pro on Amazon. Because they do not want it to appear alongside any other low-quality brain supplement.
I get that. Amazon User Reviews are easily manipulated by jealous competitors or any yahoo looking to destroy a well-earned great reputation for no reason at all.
Once you understand the effort that went into developing this premium nootropic stack, Amazon.com is not the place for extensive product descriptions either.
So if you have been searching for a high-quality pre-made nootropic stack – I highly recommend trying Mind Lab Pro.
Does Mind Lab Pro Really Work?
This is the best pre-made nootropic stack I’ve ever used. And this after nearly 14 years of trying dozens of nootropics. Both individual nootropic supplements, and various pre-made stacks by different manufacturers.
Mind Lab Pro is certainly not the cheapest nootropic stack on the market. But it is fairly priced at only $69 for a month supply.
You simply can not put this stack together with individual nootropic supplements for twice or even three times more than what Mind Lab Pro sells it for.
And consider this, Mind Lab Pro went the extra mile by including the best quality ingredients available for this stack.
Product and packaging quality, brand name ingredients, testing and more testing, and organic whenever possible.
Mind Lab Pro even uses vegan NutriCaps® capsules made from tapioca, and their own bioactive NutriGenesis® vitamins. None of their competitors come even close to matching that.
I encourage you to search no further, and try Mind Lab Pro today:

After reading your reviews. I have started taking Mind Lab Pro along with Performance Lab MCT. I have noticed a difference after just 4 weeks. My mental energy seems better and I feel some slight improvement in my thinking and mental state. So all good so far.
I have read that it takes a while for Bacopa Monnieri to build up in the system to become effective.
With this in mind my question is do I need to cycle when taking Mind Lab Pro or can I just continue taking it ?
I’m concerned that I may lose the benefit of the Bacop Monnieri build up in my system.
David Tomen says
John, I’ve been using Mind Lab Pro daily for 6 years and have never found a need to cycle its use. To me cycling does not make sense if you follow dosage recommendations.
But it does take daily use for at least 3 weeks before you get the ‘full’ benefit of this stack. Because it takes time to make positive changes to your brain. And the herbal content often takes awhile of daily use before your system gets the full benefit of its use as well.
Hi David! Thank you for a good review! I have used MLP now for half a year and overall I’m happy with the results, feel a bit more confident, focused and more secure in social situations (I’m dealing with a slight social anxiety from time to time). But what I’m missing is that the doses are a bit low and many nootropics that are good for social anxiety is not included.
Recently I found Hunter Evolve Focus which includes all of the MLP ingredients in about the same dose (some higher for example L-tyrosine, and some slightly lower) + some extra vitamins and nootropics good for social anxiety (ginseng, ginko biloba, aschwagandha, etc). Quite new formula from them I believe. I have tried it for a couple of days and I can feel a better/stronger effect than with MLP which is good. But MLP feels more high quality and I’m wondering if Hunter has the same quality control etc as MLP.
Do you have any opinion about Hunter Evolve Focus? Have you tried it?
David Tomen says
Olof, I don’t know the company nor am I familiar with their products. You’ll need to check their website and look for a testing program. If they do not have one or cannot prove they have one then I would avoid the company. But that’s just me because I am such a fanatic about quality.
Felix M says
David, I’m a novice to the nootropics topic. I’ve never been diagnosed with any cognitive health problems listed in the article. I experience a lot of foggy memory and I tend to forget things during the day. I have a hard time sleeping and focusing on daily tasks. I also work 13 hours shifts in front of a computer screen.
I’m going back to school. I’m looking into purchasing a 3 month supply of the Mind Lab Pro, but I’m confused because you keep talking about stacking different supplements with the Mind Lab Pro. As a beginner to nootropics, I wanna know if it’s ok for me to only start with the Mind Lab Pro for now or if should I stack it with something else.
David Tomen says
Felix, Mind Lab Pro may be all you need. Try it and do not be afraid to use a full dose of 2 capsules twice per day if you need to. Morning and noon.
I ordered Mindlab Pro but i also want to try aniracetam with it. Will i need to add another choline source in addition to say MCT oil or fish oil when I take it? Will it be too much together? If I take say two tabs of Mindlab Pro in am. with the aniracetam and then perhaps another one or two tabs at noon with another aniracetam? I am confused.
David Tomen says
Melissa there should be enough CDP-Choline in Mind Lab Pro For your use of Aniracetam. But you would need to use Mind Lab Pro each time you used the racetam. or a separate choline source like CDP-Choline or Alpha GPC.
I also suggest using unrefined coconut oil or MCT oil when using Mind Lab Pro. Because it does contain some fat soluble ingredients.
Hello David. Greetings from Malaysia! I keep coming back to your site to find the best stack to improve my cognitive function. You have done an amazing job in detailing each nootropics very well.
I have taken the ASRS-v1.1 ADHD symptom questionnaire and I’m borderline. I am running a business and work long hours. Currently I am taking multivits and lion’s mane in the morning. But in the afternoon, I get quite lethargic and foggy. I have been taking 20mg of Ritalin with 500mg of L-Tyrosine. That jolt from Ritalin has been perfect to last for about 3 hours. Then I have to take another 10mg of Ritalin and 500mg of L tyrosine to last till late evening and to prevent crash symptoms.
I have been doing this for the past 4 months and it has been great! But I am not very keen to continue taking stimulants in fear of long term stimulants adverse effects. I have been wanting to get in touch with you for a personal consultation but haven’t been able to find the time. After reading your high praise for Mind Lab Pro, I’m wondering if this stack would be able to wean me off Ritalin? Thank you.
David Tomen says
Rashid, up to you if you want to continue with Ritalin. I have been using it twice per day for the last 14 years with no problem. The key is supporting its use. See the yellow box near the top of this page: https://nootropicsexpert.com/best-nootropics-for-adhd-add/. And then read the rest of my article for how and why it works.
Why is it so sleepy every time I eat
David Tomen says
I am not sure what you are asking. How to prevent getting sleepy every time you eat? It could be your diet.
Hi, are any of the ingredients fat-soluble?
David Tomen says
Phosphatidylserine (PS) is fat-soluble.
I am thinking of ordering Mind Lab Pro 4.0.
I would like to add 200 mcg. of Huperzine-A at two-day intervals. Aside from its nootropic benefits, this supplement helps reduce the pain of arthritis due to its anti-inflammatory effects. Is there a problem with combining Mind Lab Pro and Huperzine-A?
David Tomen says
Joel, Huperzine-A will compliment the ingredients in Mind Lab Pro to boost acetylcholine. Just keep it to once every two days.
John Grover says
Hello what is the difference between 3.0 and 4.0 formula?
David Tomen says
John, as I recall they switched from Cognizin to Citicoline during the early part of the pandemic because of supply chain issues. And there may be some slight changes in B-Vitamin dosage.
Jane Fowler & Norm Joyal says
I know you take Mind Lab Pro. I was wondering if you have ever heard of the one we take. It is called NeuroHealth and is made by Nutraherbals
I was wondering what you thought of it. How does it compare to Mind Lab Pro in your experience? We take extra Citicoline when we take racetams and I take Extra Strength Lion’s Mane. My husband uses Noopept too.
David Tomen says
Jane and Norm. the NeuroHealth supplement contains synthetic vitamins. And they use Huperzine-A which should only be used every second day because of its long half-life.
It’s not in the same category as Mind Lab Pro which contains pure and patented ingredients. And bioactive NutriGenesis B-Vitamins.
Eerin Vink says
I am not very familiar with nootropics yet. (I use lions mane, lots of coffee, iodine, B12 at the moment. And a normal multi-vitamin).
The lions mane feels good and helps with painting (I am an artist).
I wondered if I can maybe start trying the following:
mindlab pro, aniracetam and extra CDP-choline.
And ‘then’ ask you for a consultation as soon as I find out if it does anything, so that you can maybe help me to narrow down more specifically what is not working right in my system?
(if it works, then that might indicate something, and if it does not work it might also indicate something right? You would be able to give suggestions)
[edited for length]
My question is:
Is it safe to try this combination (mindlab pro, aniracetam and CDP-Choline) to see if it helps?
If it works I could then ask you for a consultation.
Maybe with your wider knowledge you can help me narrow down what the issue might be?
I hope you see my message.
David Tomen says
Eerin, it’s safe to use Mind Lab Pro with Aniracetam and CDP-Choline. Whether it “works” or not depends entirely on what your system is deficient in or what is dysfunctional.
I if you do not get relief from your symptoms it just means they are the wrong supplements for you.
Good Afternoon. I’m considering purchasing some Mind Lab Pro, but I’m confused because many of the amounts of the particular nootropics in this supplement are at a smaller dose than what your site recommends for nootropic effects. Thanks in advance
David Tomen says
Jonathan, it depend on what you are trying to do with your stack. The ingredients including the amounts of each in Mind Lab Pro were designed to work in synergy and it does that very well.
But if you are dealing with ADD like me then you need to add more L-Tyrosine.
Thanks for the review! I just had a question on this and other supplements that you may be taking for sleep. Would it be worthwhile to take sleep supplements in addition to MindLab e.g. Melatonin or the Performance Lab sleep supplement or would you expect MindLab pro on its own to help improve sleep quality? (I had a melatonin deficiency reported in a nutrient test last year and have been taking 1MG of melatonin which I’ve found helpful). Thanks.
David Tomen says
Omar, Mind Lab Pro indirectly helps with sleep because it helps maintain a healthy brain. But melatonin is only one contributor to good quality sleep. Which I detail in this article: https://nootropicsexpert.com/best-nootropics-for-sleep/
