Where to Buy Nootropics

Wondering where to buy nootropics? Well, you’re in the right place. Because here you will find the nootropic supplements that I personally use and recommend. Each supplement has a link to the company store and product that I use. I also include a link to my full review for each supplement here on Nootropics Expert® […]

Key Takeaways

  1. Magic Mind is a natural nootropic productivity shot created by James Beshara, designed to enhance mental clarity, focus, sustained energy, and stress management with organic ingredients like matcha green tea and lion’s mane mushrooms.
  2. The product offers three formula options including the original, MAXX (higher caffeine), and a caffeine-free version, catering to different user preferences and dietary restrictions such as vegan, gluten-free, paleo, and keto-friendly. Click for Magic Mind® Original
  3. Magic Mind contains a proprietary blend of 12 nootropic ingredients and essential vitamins which I detail below in this Magic Mind Review, but exact dosages of individual ingredients are not disclosed, which may limit personalized dosage adjustments.
  4. Clinical studies conducted by the company show promising results for reducing stress and anxiety, improving attention, reducing fatigue, and boosting work productivity, though these studies are not peer-reviewed or placebo-controlled.
  5. While Magic Mind is praised for its natural ingredients and ease of use, alternatives like Click for Mind Lab Pro® and Click for Performance Lab® offer more transparent labeling and potentially stronger nootropic effects at better value.

About  Magic Mind

James Beshara started Magic Mind® in 2019 and is not based in Venice Beach, California.

It all started when Mr. Beshara was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation at 26 years old. He was reported to have a heart rate of 170 beats per minute. Healthy heart rate is 60 – 100 beats per minute.

Beshara ended up in the ER and got a cardioversion to restore his normal heart rhythm. Turns out it was high stress levels and 7 coffees a day that contributed to the ER visit

Beshara cut his caffeine consumption to 80 mg per day. And began experimenting with dietary supplements to get the most out of his much reduced morning caffeine hit.

Energy drinks were not an option because most contained far too much caffeine. This combo of dietary supplements needed to improve cognitive function, enhance mental clarity, sustained energy, boost working memory, and stress management.

Beshara along with coauthors Dan Engle, MD and Katherine Haynes, MPAS, PA-C published a book called “Beyond Coffee” (Amazon) in 2019.

magic mind reviewIn 2018, Beshara created the pilot version of Magic Mind® in a San Francisco rented commercial kitchen.

He blended 12 nootropic ingredients including Organic Matcha green tea, Organic Lion’s Mane Mushroom, Bacopa Monnieri, Citicoline, Curcumin, Ashwagandha, Rhodiola Rosea, Vitamin C, Cordyceps mushroom, L-Theanine, and natural Caffeine.

And Beshara started putting ads on social media so others could purchase Magic Mind®. The testimonials started coming in from those drinking Magic Mind®.

So, does Magic Mind® work? Positive reviews are reporting enhanced focus, calm energy, and a sharper mind. And users said they preferred this productivity drink over traditional supplements.

Magic Mind – Who it’s for

Magic Mind® was designed for those looking for better focus, a boost in energy, a reduction in anxiety, and improved cognition.

The premium price for a month supply of Magic Mind® narrows its appeal to working professionals and athletes. And it can be game changer for those looking for enhanced recall and focus, quicker thinking, more energy, and resilience to stress and overwhelm.

Not likely a good option for the stay at home mom or dad, young students, or the aging brain.

Magic Mind Review – The Good

Beshara is serious about sourcing the best and purest ingredients for his Magic Mind® blend.

The company started in 2019 in San Francisco. And while this formula will appeal to some, it’s not a match for leaders in the nootropic space like Click for Mind Lab Pro® and Click for Performance Lab® .

But as a standalone pre-made nootropic stack, the organic ingredients should support the claims of his marketing message. That message goes like this …

Optimal neural function

Going from foggy and scattered thinking to clear, focused problem-solving throughout your day. With higher energy levels, have the satisfaction of completing complex tasks that once overwhelmed you.

Improved memory consolidation

Transitioning from moments of forgetfulness to reliable recall when you need it. Feel the shift in verbal fluidity so you are confident with immediate memory recall.

Less Stress

Make yourself more resilient by reducing stress, maintain peak performance and stamina with long-term use.

Magic Mind – The Not So Good

“Proprietary Blends”

Magic Mind® does not declare how much of each nootropic ingredient is in the bottle on the supplement facts label.

You do not have any way to tell how much of each nootropic is in this pre-made stack. So there is no way for you to know how much of each ingredient you may need to increase for your unique cognitive issues.

Average Ingredient Quality

Magic Mind® is priced as a premium nootropic stack. But while Magic Mind claims they put their product through “rigorous third-party testing” for purity, potency, and safety. There is zero proof of that claim.

And the company claims for their Lion’s Mane Mushroom ingredient that they use “only mushroom fruiting bodies (not mycelium) for maximum bioactive compounds”. Clearly, they have missed Lion’s Mane Mushroom bioactive compounds are contained in the fruiting body as well as the mycelium. If this is true, then this pre-made nootropic supplement is missing half the benefit by including Lion’s Mane Mushroom.[i]

is magic mind safeDoes Magic Mind Work? – Clinical Studies

The company appears to have conducted one study of Magic Mind which the published on their website. But not in peer-reviewed journals.

The study objectives were stated as follows, “To assess the efficacy and impact of the supplement product Magic Mind on stress, anxiety, attention, energy & fatigue, and work productivity and performance.”

82 individuals participated in the study. Each participant used Magic Mind daily for 60-days. This was not a placebo-controlled trial.

Each participant completed a survey at the beginning of the trial, at 30-days, and again at 60-days.

The results recorded included a 34.9% reduction in stress levels, a 28% decrease in anxiety, an 11.5% enhancement in attention, a 31.4% decrease in fatigue, and an 11.6% improvement in work productivity and performance.

The study outcome also indicated that 57 of the study participants had less stress, 67 participants reported less anxiety, 36 participants reported improved attention, 67 participants said they had lower fatigue, and 41 reported higher work productivity and performance by the end of the study.

magic mind ingredientsMagic Mind – Ingredients

Magic Mind® ingredients appear to be different if you buy from their website or Amazon. I haven’t checked Sprouts so I’m not sure what proprietary formula are in retail stores.

The following ingredients are on Magic Mind® supplement facts label for product sold in Amazon.

Magic Mind – Original Productivity Shot

The original formula includes:

Vitamin C 100 mg

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant, boost BDNF, assists the formation of norepinephrine and dopamine, and the release of acetylcholine, and is an electron donor that reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS).[ii]

Vitamin D3 25 mcg

Vitamin D3 is an essential vitamin and is a cofactor in the synthesis of serotonin, GABA, glutamate, glutamine, and dopamine,[iii] prevents DNA oxidative damage, and plays a critical role in neuron cell growth and differentiation, neuron transmission, and the neuroplasticity that’s essential for optimal learning and memory.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) 1 mg

Vitamin B2 is essential for adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production in mitochondria, required to produce Vitamin B6, and helps convert Vitamin A (retinol) to retinoic acid that your body can use.[iv]

Vitamin B3 (Niacin) 8 mg

Vitamin B3 is a co-factor in the one-carbon cycle that is required for the production of dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin,[v] increases Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and stimulates growth hormone. And as a precursor to NAD and NADH repairs cell and DNA damage.

Vitamin B12 2.4 mcg

Vitamin B12 is a cofactor in the synthesis of neurotransmitters acetylcholine, dopamine, GABA, norepinephrine, and serotonin.[vi]

Calcium 4 mg

Calcium plays a critical role as a secondary messenger in brain cells. Involved in neurotransmitter release from neurons. The process of communication between axons and dendrites which has calcium at its core is how memories are formed. And it affects alertness, concentration, cognition and mood.

Sodium 15 mg

Potassium and sodium must be in balance for basic cellular and energy health. Sodium/Potassium pumps (Na+/K+-ATPase pumps) use ATP energy provided by your mitochondria. These pumps get sodium out of the cell in exchange for Potassium. This cell membrane potential is key for neuron and neurotransmitter transmission, muscle contraction, and heart function.[vii]

And a 1780 mg blend of:

Olive Oil

Matcha green tea

Matcha contains and provides the nootropic benefits of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), L-Theanine, caffeine, Vitamin K, polyphenols, lutein, and sodium.[viii]

Ashwagandha (root)

Ashwagandha helps regenerate axons and dendrites and reconstruct synapses, reduces cortisol, inhibits acetylcholinesterase, and enhances GABA receptors and regulates serotonin in the brain.[ix]

Bacopa Monnieri (whole herb)

Bacopa Monnieri affects brain levels of acetylcholine which is important for memory and cognition. It appears to modulate brain levels of the serotonin which provides an anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effect.[x]

Citicoline

CDP-Choline (Citicoline) is a precursor to the synthesis of acetylcholine and enhances the release of norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin.[xi] For boosting focus, concentration and memory.

Rhodiola Rosea (root)

Rhodiola Rosea boosts mood by influencing serotonin and norepinephrine levels in your brain, and the feel-good opioids like beta-endorphins. And this ancient herbal adaptogen has remarkable anti-depressant and anti-anxiety qualities.[xii]

Turmeric (root)

Turmeric has traditionally been used to treat digestive disorders, skin conditions, cancer, diabetes, lower blood pressure heart disease, obesity, liver function, protect from damage to DNA, and treat chest and abdominal pain. Turmeric also inhibits monoamine oxidase enzymes (both MAO-A and MAO-B) which increases serotonin and dopamine in your brain affecting mood and memory.[xiii]

Lion’s Mane (fruiting body)

Lion’s Mane Mushroom The nootropic benefits of hericenones only found in the fruiting body or top of the mushroom help support your immune system and get rid of Amyloid β (25-35) peptide implicated in diseases like Alzheimer’s.[xiv]

Phosphatidylserine (PS)

Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid component of the membrane encasing every one of your brain cells. PS is integral to cleaning up damaged neurons and maintaining an optimized brain.[xv]

Cordyceps

Cordyceps Mushroom is a functional mushroom and improves performance by increasing blood flow, boosts ATP synthesis for more natural energy, acts as an antioxidant, enhances lactate clearance, increases the release of catecholamines, and reduces oxidative stress, and fatigue.[xvi]

L-Theanine

L-Theanine increases GABA, serotonin and dopamine levels in your brain. It boosts Alpha and Theta brain waves for alert relaxation and creativity. It increases Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and Nerve Growth Factor (NGF).[xvii] And helps lower cortisol for lower stress. And for increased productivity.

Saffron

Saffron inhibits the uptake of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain which helps improve mood. It is a potent antioxidant and free radical scavenger. And it could be an alternative to some popular antidepressant meds.[xviii]

Piperine

Piperine inhibits the drug transporter P-glycoprotein, and the drug-metabolizing enzyme CYP3A4 in your liver. Which boosts the effectiveness of each nootropic in your stack to be absorbed and used as intended. And is a powerful monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor (MAOI). Boosting serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the brain. Decreasing anxiety, improving mood and memory.[xix]

natural caffeine 55 mg

Caffeine is an adenosine antagonist which influences acetylcholine, epinephrine (adrenaline), serotonin and boosts the use of dopamine. Providing the stimulant effect experienced when consuming caffeine.[xx]

Magic Mind – MAXX

The Maxx formula is the same as the original formula except it contains 165 mg caffeine.

Magic Mind – FREE

The FREE formula is the same as the original formula but is a caffeine free option.

Some taking Magic Mind® as their daily routine report less brain fog, better productivity and creativity, increases energy, less stress, and more motivation.

Nootropics Expert® Magic Mind Summary

If you’ve watched any podcasts on YouTube lately, chances are you’ve seen someone promoting Magic Mind®. The company started in 2019 and have been promoting their original formula since.

The founder James Beshara remains active in promoting and building the formula that helped turn his life around. Mr. Beshara has raised money from the Silicon Valley crowd since not too long after he founded the company.

Magic Mind® contains natural nootropic ingredients considered non-toxic and safe when use at recommended dosages.

Magic Mind® is easier to use because each dose comes in individual 2 ounce bottles. You avoid a drawer full of supplement bottles and instead keep a pack of these bottle in a cupboard or desk draw.

Magic Mind® provides basic, safe support for energy, anxiety, less stress and depression for the active, healthy adult brain.

In my opinion, Click for Mind Lab Pro® and Click for Performance Lab® Caffeine 2 are more potent, and a far better value with transparent product labeling. So you know exactly what you’re going to take each time you take your supplements.

But Magic Mind® is certainly a worthy competitor. It’s worth trying if you can afford it. I have and it does what the company says it will do.
